In the wake of a series of negative cryptoassets market events in 2022, regulators around the globe have expedited proposals to further regulate cryptoassets service providers and address the risks and vulnerabilities that have come to the fore.
Our Co-Head of Financial Services Regulatory Elaine Chan and Partner Tian Sion Yoong recently authored an article titled “Crypto headwinds: an overview of regulations in Singapore, the EU, UK and US”. The article provides a comparative overview of the key regulatory proposals made across these jurisdictions, which are broadly categorised into informational, gatekeeping and safety net regulations.
