Angela LIM is a Partner in the Corporate Real Estate Practice. 

Her main practice areas are in commercial, industrial and residential property and property-related corporate transactions and investment work, real estate disposals, acquisitions, real estate investment trusts, tenders and government land sales, property development, property regulatory and advisory work, leasing, real estate financing, syndication, securitisation, commercial contracts and joint ventures.

Angela is recognised in Real Estate in Singapore by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific – The Client's Guide to the Asia Pacific Legal Profession and also recognised in Real Estate Law in Best Lawyers

Angela graduated from the National University of Singapore and holds a Master of Laws from the University of London. She is admitted to the Singapore Bar and to the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales. 
 

Significant transactions that Angela has been involved in include advising / acting for the following:

  • Jurong Town Corporation (“JTC”) in drafting and advising on the long-term lease of a building in the course of construction at Punggol Digital District (“PDD”) to United Overseas Bank Limited (“UOB”) for UOB to set up its new global technology and innovation centre to house around 3,000 digital technology talents engaging in technology, innovation and digital roles. PDD is intended to be Asia’s premier smart and sustainable business district which is master planned and developed by JTC.
  • Far East Organisation in the S$1.405 billion syndicated financing for the purpose of, inter alia, refinancing the existing acquisition facility and part-financing the construction and development in respect of Golden Mile Complex. The transaction involved complicated real estate land issues resulting in bespoke security documentation.
  • The Finance Parties in the grant of the S$950,000,000 sustainability-linked term loan facility to the borrower HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited (in its capacity as trustee of Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust.
  • Lendlease Vault Holdings Pte. Ltd.  as one of the unitholders of a joint venture trust known as "Certis & Lendlease Property Trust", in the acquisition from Certis Cisco Security Pte. Ltd.  of the property at 20 Jalan Afifi, Singapore 409179 including the buildings erected thereon known as "Certis Cisco Centre", for the sum of approximately S$150 million for redevelopment and acted for "Certis & Lendlease Property Trust" in the financing of the acquisition.
  • The REIT managers of AIMS APAC REIT in the S$129.6 million acquisition of a master tenanted logistics warehouse at 7 Bulim Street in the Jurong West Logistics Cluster within the Jurong Innovation District. There were various bespoke provisions required to deal with the parties’ commercial requirements and liaison with JTC to seek amendments to lease terms. 
  • Cohu, Inc., a company listed on NASDAQ, in its first acquisition in Singapore. The matter involved a wide range of practice areas, including touching on Singapore laws relating to corporate and commercial, corporate real estate, intellectual property, data privacy and protection, environmental and regulatory, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption. During the process of our review of the target company’s legal documentation relating to real estate, we provided Cohu, Inc. with insights into Singapore laws relating to real estate, advised on and resolved specific real estate related matters. We also drafted and advised Cohu, Inc on the group’s first lease.
