CHUA Si Ya is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

Her main areas of practice involve mergers and acquisitions, covering both public and private transactions and general corporate and commercial transactions.

Si Ya graduated from the Singapore Management University and is admitted to the Singapore Bar.
 

Significant transactions that Si Ya has been involved in include advising / acting for the following:

  • CapitaLand Investment Limited ("CLI"), in the acquisition by CLI Begonia Pte. Ltd. ("CLI Begonia") of 40% of the SC Capital Partners Group ("SCCP"), a Singapore-based real estate investment manager, for S$280 million. The initial acquisition will increase CLI's funds under management by S$11 billion, cementing CLI's position as one of Asia Pacific's largest managers of real estate investment trusts. CLI Begonia will acquire the remaining 60% stake in SCCP in tranches over the next 5 years.
  • The offeror, a consortium formed by a vehicle led by Dymon Asia Private Equity and the key management personnel of Penguin International Limited, in the general offer for the shares of SGX-listed designer, builder, owner and operator of aluminium high-speed craft, Penguin International Limited.
  • Temasek, in its joint venture with SGX-listed Nanofilm Technologies, a provider of nanotechnology solutions, to form Sydrogen Energy, a developer and manufacturer of fuel cell components and systems.
  • Advantage Partners Asia Fund, in its acquisition of Pharmaforte Singapore and Pharmaforte Malaysia, distributors of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, for approximately S$300 million.
  • Temasek in several of its venture capital investments in start-ups such as fashion start-up Zilingo and global sports media property One Championship.
