ONG Pei Chin is a Partner in the Corporate and Regulatory Investigations and Commercial & Corporate Disputes Practices.
Her expertise spans a wide array of regulatory and compliance issues, particularly under the Companies Act, Securities and Futures Act, and SGX Listing Rules. Her tenure at the Monetary Authority of Singapore has endowed her with invaluable insights from a regulator's perspective.
Pei Chin has advised clients on regulatory investigations initiated by various bodies including Singapore Exchange Regulation, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore, as well as on internal investigations raising bribery and corruption concerns.
Pei Chin graduated from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the Singapore Bar. Pei Chin has also obtained the International Compliance Academy’s Advanced Certificate in Governance, Risk and Compliance, accredited under the Institute of Banking & Finance, scoring a distinction on the course.

Advisory Matters
- An international financial institution on the potential Singapore law implications arising from proceedings in the US, in which allegations are raised that certain customer transaction were for the ultimate benefit of entities listed on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List administered by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Part of a multi-national conglomerate with businesses in, amongst others, the energy, infrastructure and logistics sector, on the potential application of Singapore’s sanctions against Russia, in a proposed re-financing arrangement involving a Russian bank.
- The Singaporean subsidiary of a European conglomerate on potential exposure under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act arising from a cross-border bribery and money laundering scheme involving certain employees of the group, who had been convicted of corruption and money laundering offences overseas.
Investigations Matters
- A Singapore listed company on potential breaches of the Securities and Futures Act, Companies Act and SGX Listing Rules in relation to certain disclosures made by the company in its financial statements and trades in the company’s securities and representing the said company in Singapore Exchange Regulation’s inquiry into the same.
- Conducting a review into the circumstances surrounding Singapore Post Limited's consideration and approval of the acquisition of a US e-commerce company, TradeGlobal Holdings Inc in November 2015 for around US$170 million and advising the company’s Independent Committee on legal issues arising from the review. The summary report of the review was published by the company on SGXNET.
- Conducting an investigation into potential bribery and corruption committed in respect of certain contracts entered into by a company in the oil & gas industry.
